Teniposide is a chemotherapy medication used in the treatment of certain types of pediatric leukemia, Hodgkin's lymphoma, brain cancer, and other types of cancer. Like most chemotherapy agents, it must be administered intravenously. It works by interfering with certain operations that are involved in the duplication of DNA.

Like many chemotherapy drugs, it has severe side effects. It can burn the skin if it leaks from the intravenous line. It is very toxic to both the bone marrow and the stomach. It can trigger an autoimmune reaction. Hair loss is also common.
