Sulfasalazine is a non-steroid orally administrated anti-inflammatory drug used to treat arthritis, ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. It has common side effects such as nausea, headache and rash, as well as more serious side effects such as bone marrow suppression, and damage to the liver or kidneys. However, it is safe to take during pregnancy.
