As part of the performance, Miles asked Queen Shannon to pick a champion to fight Sir Horace. She chose Sir William, who was several inches shorter, weighed less, and had less sturdy equipment. However, Shannon told William that Horace had a very sore shoulder from a previous injury.
The fight went well for Horace early on as he managed to disarm William. However, William was much more agile and managed to both recover his weapon and land several blows on the bad shoulder. As a result, Horace had to conceded the match.
