The scrotum is a pouch that contains the testes and part of the spermatic cord. It consists of skin, a network of muscular fibres called dartos, various fasciae, the cremasteric muscle and the tunica vaginalis.

Common problems with the scrotum include the development of various cysts, especially epidermoid cysts; contact dermatitis; hernias; yeast infections and swelling related to other conditions.
