Robert Sean Leonard (born February 28, 1969 in Westwood, New Jersey) is the actor that plays Dr. James Wilson, House's best friend.

Leonard first came to national attention as the tragic Neil Perry in Dead Poet's Society. Ironically, Leonard played the character who was forced to study medicine by his domineering father, although he wanted to pursue a career in acting.

Leonard won a Tony Award in 2001 for his performance in Tom Stoppard's play The Invention of Love.

He is now friends with his co-worker, Hugh Laurie
