In chemistry, a macromolecule is a very large molecule made up of components of smaller molecules. Typically, a macromolecule can be made up of thousands of atoms (compared to, for example, three atoms for a water molecule). In biology, DNA, RNA, proteins, carbohydrates, and fat are all types of macromolecules.
