A laparoscope is a medical instrument that combines an endoscope with surgical instruments. It is used in laproscopic surgery in order to perform internal procedures with minimal invasion.
Early laparoscopes had a lens system at the end which fed into a video camera feed. However, modern laparoscopes contain a digital imaging system with a video camera at the end.
