Foster Kennedy Syndrome is a paraneoplastic syndrome. It can be caused by any tumor of the frontal lobe.It is characterized by four symptoms:

  1. Damage to the optic nerve on the same side as the tumor.
  2. Edema in the disc of the eye on the opposite side of the tumor
  3. Loss of central vision in the eye on the same side of the tumor
  4. Loss of the sense of smell on the same side as the tumor

The only treatment of the condition is to treat the underlying tumor.
