Foster Kennedy Syndrome is a paraneoplastic syndrome. It can be caused by any tumor of the frontal lobe.It is characterized by four symptoms:
- Damage to the optic nerve on the same side as the tumor.
- Edema in the disc of the eye on the opposite side of the tumor
- Loss of central vision in the eye on the same side of the tumor
- Loss of the sense of smell on the same side as the tumor
The only treatment of the condition is to treat the underlying tumor.
