Filgrastim is a pharmaceutical used to treat low neutrophil levels regardless of the cause. It is usually given to patients on chemotherapy, and can also be used for patients suffering from radiation sickness or AIDS. It must be given by injection.
Side effects include fever, coughing, chest and joint pain, vomiting and hair loss.
