Jay Karnes is an American actor, best known for his role as Detective Holland Wagenbach on The Shield. On House, M.D., he portrayed Nick Greenwald, the patient with frontal lobe disinhibition in The Social Contract.
Karnes started out in a Shakespeare company in his native Oregon, and didn't have his first television credit until he was 35. However, he has had a solid career since with featured roles in Sons of Anarchy, Brothers & Sisters, Burn Notice, and V.
