Consent to treatment

(Redirected from Consentment to Treatment)
Consentment to treatment is a medical form that must be filled out by a patient before doctors apply a medical therapy to a patient. In the event that the patient is incapable of rational thought or is incapacitated, the patient must select a person, typically a family member, to sign all Consentment to Treatment forms in the patient's stead.
Doctors are professionally obligated to reasonably inform patients of all potential benefits/risks of a treatment, although Gregory House is infamous for his browbeating of patients to get them to sign Consentment to Treatment forms and also even ignoring unsigned Consentment to Treatment forms.
