The Canon EIS 5D Mark II is a professional grade digital still and video camera. It was the first Canon model to be capable of video recording and was capable of recording at full 1080p High-Definition video.
Later in the series, the producers started using the 5D extensively for shooting in the series because of the camera's excellent balance of small size and high quality. Most of the series was shot on standard 35mm film stock. Help Me was shot entirely on a 5D, allowing filming in very small spaces that were not accessible with a 35mm camera. Much of Season 7 was shot on the camera as well.
